Sermon for Sunday, January 11, 2009 – Matthew 25:31-46
On the day of our Lord’s return, the people of the nations will be distinguished by how they treated the least of those who belong to Him.
This passage teaches followers of Jesus how to set their minds for faithful living in tough times.
The ‘parable of the talents’ teaches us that, because we must give an account to the Lord, we should make productive use of what He entrusts to us for His glory.
David’s closing ‘charge’ to Solomon gives us some worthy ‘resolves’ to build into our Christian lives in the coming year.
Theme: This passage describes the doctrinal faithfulness that must characterize an overseer of God’s household.
